Hi all, Today I spent a lot of time searching for my early 90's achives, which I still have on floppy disks. I chose one and ripped it apart. The LED is a 100 mA, 1.5V, 5mm chinese imported cheap one. The camera is DMC-FZ18.
I'd say I'll go for the real 880nm pass filter, as the cheap solution takes off the brightness of the LEDs/blobs because floppy disks appear to betoo thick.

Try this:
ReplyDeleteBuy colour film, exposure it and develop.
You will get nice IR pass filter.
Try two layers to get best results.
