PS3Eye Ordered from dealextreme.com!!!
Today I also ordered the PS3 Eye from www.dealextreme.com. I could not find any in Varna and BG, most of the stores were out ot stock and the others have a bigger price than the 52 USD I found on dealextreme.com.
It will come to Bulgaria with a bunch of other items I also ordered. I got the USB heater gloves, so that people can use the multitouch box with warm hands!
Earlier this month I bought a really very cheap webcam, which was listed as 30 fps @ 640 but it could only give me 6 fps.
Lucky me, I found some useful stuff in the box, such as USB to miniUSB adapter and a miniUSB cable to replace my old Motorola Z3 USB charger cable. So although the cam did not work as expected, at least I got something for my money.
Sorry about the pink colour, they did not have any black ones left.
I ripped it apart and found that the IR filter is dyed on the first lest, near the sensor chip, I don't know what solvent to use and I could not remove the lense as well. But I was going to discard it anyway because of the pour bitrate.
Good thing was the long and agile body of the cam, I was planing to screw the cam on one of the side and just leave it hanging over the LCD illumination on the bottom.
So waiting for my PS3 Eye now!
Cheers,
P
First 25 OSRAM diodes arrive!
I have them for a while, made the order online four weeks ago from Radionics in Ireland.
I got them shipped to our Irish HQ address. So this was a one day delivery from Dublin 22 to Dublin 1 :-) and then I got them via internal mail to my office in Varna, Bulgaria.

I ordered 25 of these:

The website lists them as 40 deg. I am not sure if that's becuase they are +-20 deg.
The innitial quick test gave me max 72mA with a 1.64V R14P battery as shown below.
More tests and some soldering coming soon.
Cheers,
PAVEL

......and we have a box.
Yesterday I did some sketching and I came up with a simple box - 50x60x60 cm.

So I got some OSB (http://www.praktiker.bg/) and two 2m 30x40 mm planks (same place), had them cut in the store and made a simple box. Size is 50x50x60 so it is square on top. I don't want any of the people doing multitouch simultaneously have the advantage of being on a wider side. Still trying to determine how the upper frame with the LCD will sit on top. I have a few ideas.

I still have to cut wholes for the power and the connections with the PC.
Comments are welcome!
